Awakening of Navi Septa (Part One The Keys of Wisdom)

Years ago, when all the Sahaja Yogis were blessed to be in Shri Mataji’s presence and could ask Her advice on many subjects, I expressed a desire to write a novel which would enable people of all ages to enjoy some of the magic of Sahaja Yoga. With ideas, positive criticism and input from many Sahaja Yogis, The Keys of Wisdom, a fantasy set on the imaginary planet of Navi Septa, was written.

The keys represent the qualities of the chakras. They help the seven young  heroes on their epic journey from Teletsia, ruled by demonic Sorcerers, to the secret land of Sasrar, and also let them discover more about their shortcomings and strengths, and how they must work together to achieve their goal.

When I explained to Shri Mataji that the seven children start their journey from a stone circle which represents the Mooladhara chakra, She said, ‘Call it the Temple of Support’. She also suggested names for some of the characters, and many of the anecdotes which make up the plot were inspired by Her stories and wisdom.

Story from Sahasrara Puja Cabella (2011)

It has been a week now since we have come back from Cabella but we still wanted to share with everybody the experience of this year's Sahasrara Puja over there.

Where to start? Perhaps even it is a bit back to front, with Monday morning meditation on the stage. Mother's chair was covered in the most beautiful silk sari, the same colour as Mother's skin tone and decorated with red and pink roses. Over her chair was draped the sari the ladies had held during the actual Puja, in Mother's favourite colour pink, so bright and soothing at the same time and decorated with intricate details and yet more roses. Doing namaskar in front of Her chair and putting my head where Mother's feet have rested so many times in the past I could feel a coolness that confirmed Mother was there the night before too. And the sweet scent of flowers that always preceded Mother's arrival surrounded me, filling me with a sensation of immense joy and surrender.

Meditation was deep and joyful. Every now and then I would open my eyes and all I could see was the love with which our brothers and sisters had decorated the stage. On either side of Mother's chair were two columns of crimson red and white roses, from floor to the ceiling, so skilfully arranged they looked like stairways to heaven...although Heaven was already down there where we were sitting. There were beautiful bouquets of expensive flowers mixed with equally beautiful ones made of wildlife flowers picked in the fields round Cabella. Shri Ganesha was sitting at Mother's feet, his wrists and ankles sweetly decorated with small, colourful bangles and the smile on his face yet another confirmation that Mother had blessed us once more with Her Divine love.

The night before we had listened to a Sahasrara talk dating back more then 20 years in which Mother instructed us that we were now entering the second phase, a phase where She would not be there in person anymore but we would still see her, and we should not be surprised if this happened.

This was the first Sahasrara Puja in Cabella performed entirely in front of Mother's picture, in Her Nirvikalpa form I think they say. We were tentatively approaching every phase of the Puja, trying not to make a mistake, trying to please our Mother with our devotion. It was with compassion that we watched people who had in the past been so physically close to Mother hesitate slightly as they arranged a garland of flowers around her photograph and then bow down to the photograph in full faith. We all stood up and sang Swagata and Mother's Puja photo was carried onto the stage from the entrance She always used. The ladies who decorated Mother's feet and put perfume to them did so as if they were doing it for the first time, with similar devotion and love. Then the children offered the rose petals and brought joy to all the people assembled.

In the end, the Yuvas from all the hosting countries were asked to perform the Aarti and spontaneously they reached across to touch each other's right shoulder. It was all so beautiful it is difficult to find the right words to describe it in its full majestic power.

And then, after the meditation the ladies from from the hosting countries started to distribute the Prasad, and it kept coming and coming and coming!! They offered us fresh fruit and sweets and all sorts of homemade biscuits, and I am not joking there were tons of it, all made and presented with such love and humility. And after that they gave us presents, little bags of vibrated kum-kum, salt, cane sugar, oil and water, and beautiful photos of Mother with Mother's promise to her children printed on them, and hand crocheted doilies for our altars and small hand stitched bags containing petals from flowers Mother had personally vibrated, and lavander and soap...and so much I cannot even remember.

Then the music started to play and then we had fireworks and we wished each other Happy Sahasrara Day and it was one of the happiest days of our lives

With love
Anna

Spreading Sahaja Yoga through Arts

"...An artist can serve the society through others by creating a deep impact on their minds. Such is the motivating force of an artist. They are the loveliest flowers of creation, sweetest dreams of the Creator, the dearest parts of human society. Perhaps, they do not know how they are loved, worshipped and followed by their spectators..." H.H. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi

The Search For The Divine Mother - now free

The amazing book of Gwen, The Search For The Divine Mother,  is now available for free on iPad and as a PDF.

More details and download here: simplebookreader.com

*

This book looks at our religion and spirituality from a historical viewpoint.

Many traditions attach great importance to the feminine dimension of the Divine. It is She who is said to give liberation, spiritual rebirth, that is to say Union with the Self. The most significant example is the knowledge of the Kundalini in India.

We may wonder why the Western religions have attributed an exclusively masculine, patriarchal character to the Divine. Several thousand years ago, was not the only form of Divinity, the object of veneration, feminine and maternal?

What is responsible for this neglect, this confiscation? Has the original message of these religions been distorted to the point that we are today unaware of the Mother-Goddess?

And could the Age of Aquarius, which is said to mark a change of consciousness on a spiritual level, perhaps be the moment where humanity is able to re-discover this awareness of the Universal Mother?

This book offers answers to these topical questions.

Realize IRAQ Tour 5

We arrived in Erbil on Friday afternoon on the the 6th of May and checked into our hotel. After resting for a while we went to the biggest shopping mall in Erbil, called Family Mall, and we took permission for the evening program. The people showed great interest in our program and some 500-600 people received their self realization. Everything was quite amazing!

We set out towards Kerkuk on Saturday. Upon arriving in Kerkuk we first visited the police force, then the School of Fine Arts and finally the Mayor of Kerkuk.

Everyone showed great interest in us. Some 25-30 people including the Mayor and the Chief of the Police Force received their self realization. Some additions were made to the TV shoot that had taken place the previous day and the final version of the video was played on TV twice the next day (on the channels called Zagros and Kerkuk TV). We left Kerkuk and set out for Sulaymaniye after dinner.

This is a unique opportunity to explore not just our creative but also our spiritual potential. Shri Mataji once told us that whatever we do “… should be done with the faith that you have in worshipping, the zeal of a warrior and the sensitivity of an artist.”

Please help us in our efforts to improve the way we do things and the service we offer by pre-registering on line. Please don’t leave it to the last minute.

Join prayer from Japan

Jai Shri Mataji

The Fukushima nuclear plant situaltion is still a big issue not only for Japan but for the whole world. Let this be a good chance to have a new life style and new awareness. We humbly ask all the yogis to share our prayer, bandhan or shoebeat at 19:30 Japan time. Or putting bhandan at the end of every meditation.

Thank you from our hearts. We have a special page on our Facebook "Join Prayer from Japan" for all yogis and non-yogis.

Sincerely Sawako

Join prayer from Japan

Act, Pray and Meditate with us for Japan and the Globe!

We, volunteer group of Japanese welcome you to join our prayer and meditation for the collective seeking of alternative way of life and value system.

1) Put your right hand on your head, palm downwards. Left hand on your lap, palm upward.

2) And try to lift your hand gradually upward and feel the gentle, soothing, cool breeze coming on your palm.

3) Put back your right hand on your lap and stay still in silence.

4) If you can, please join our prayer and meditation everyday from 19:30 JST for 5 minutes.

5) Get back to us to tell us what you have felt and share your feelings.

In Tohoku, Japan, so many lives are taken. The image of gigantic tsunami and the following destruction was utterly frightening...And now, we are concerning the possibility of worst Nuclear catastrophe. It looks really too much. You can imagine the fear and stress of Japanese people who is still showing their partial strength.

Having gone through all this, we are more and more realizing that it is not only our problem but it should be shared by everyone on earth. Don't need to think it is only the problem of Japan, as it can happen to you anytime. We feel that the nuclear problem is symbolically suggesting all of us to re-consider our modern way of life based on the mass production. We are living in such a society that we cannot keep on going without relying on the destructive monster like nuclear reactors. As one of the "advanced" countries, we believe, we have special responsibility to pave the way to the constructive, sustainable, environmentally friendly future.

But our goal is not to stop the nuclear power plant or to develop the natural ways of producing the electricity. If you want to do it and if you think you can, please do so. But we would like you to join our "spiritual" way. We would like to go down to the "core heart" of the problem.

Where is our problem? Nuclear reactors or radiation? We don't know that. And if you know, please tell us. But we only feel that it is high time to unite all our heart and good will regardless our creed, race, nationalities or religion. It is a matter of survival as a human race and we are quite on the edge. Our experience can tell that. Even our physical being is endangered, we can still bear the hope if our heart is intact each other and can reach our innate wisdom as a mankind if we go deeper inside ourselves. And to do so, we feel the above method is the purest and easiest way.

Theatre of Eternal Values tour in Turkey a triumph!

Dear all,

Our Sahaj theatre company, Theatre of Eternal Values, has just finished its latest tour in Turkey, showcasing Eternity in an Hour, a play based on William Blake's life and work, which is a shorter version of our 2007 play which premiered in the West End that year. Here is a the latest report written by Maureen Goodman......

The Sahaj theatre group has just spent 9 days in Turkey, giving performances in Ankara, Bursa and Istanbul. The four performances went very well and approximately 800 received their self-realisation by attending.

The welcome and generosity of our Turkish brothers and sisters knew no bounds: it was stupendous and overwhelming! In Istanbul we stayed in their ashram but they booked us into hotels in Ankara and Bursa so that we could be comfortable and keep together.  On arrival we found Mother's picture, candles, fruit, nuts and sweets set out in our rooms, together with footsoak bowls and salt. All our needs were taken care of, and we were showered with presents on arrival, during our visit and on leaving: such open hearts were a lesson to us all, and very touching.

The Turkish yogis had prepared everything exceedingly well for us, including contact with the media. We had various interviews with TV companies and the press which resulted in excellent coverage during the run of the play.

TEV interviewed in Ankara: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nFsXL0Ij0E

The first few minutes of the transmission are on another subject, but keep going and you will see some familiar faces, with the translation ably done by a Turkish yogini.

TEV's site for the tour: http://eternalworlds.wordpress.com This includes our trailer for the show.

And that was not all! After the last performance in Istanbul, an Iraqi actor who works in the Ministry of Culture in Northern Iraq came backstage and invited us to perform in his country. Please give bandhans that this will come to fruition. Jai Shri Mataji!

With much love,
Maureen

Sahaja Yoga in Durban, South Africa

We received this project in Divine Cook Breeze - Project 1008 but we are sharing it also on the blog.

Jai Shri Mataji,

We would like to bring to your attention the following Sahaj project that 3 yogis from Durban, South Africa collective initiated late last year.

For most of 2010 Rina, Kasthurie, and myself (Lincoln), had a desire to go out to schools and give students and teachers their self realisation. Because I was busy with completion of my MBA, I could spare very little time. Since the dissertation was progressing quiet well (in fact ahead of where I should actually be), we decided to embark on our school project in August. We decided to first visit the 'poor' suburb of Phoenix. This is a part of Durban where poverty, unemployment, crime, drugs, and prostitution is rampant. The community comprised of pre-dominantly Indians, Blacks, and Coloureds with a population of approximately 400 000 to 500 000 residents. The number of schools in this area totalled 40 comprising primary and high schools.

On the first day, we went wearing our sales hats. The sequence of events when a school was approached are as follows:

  • we requested to speak to a person of authority (a person who could grant permission to speak to students and teachers on the benefits of SY meditation)
  • once we were in this persons office, we apologised for arriving un-announced
  • we introduce ourselves as representatives from SY
  • we continue by saying we are aware of the abject challenges facing both students and teachers i.e. poverty, unemployment, crime, drugs and the effect this has in a learning environment
  • we then say SY school awareness programs have been successfully run in many other countries with positive results and we want to run similar programs in South Africa
  • by now the principal / deputy has wide eyes because they are drowning with problems experienced with running a school and they also just heard that our program is FREE
  • the next question usually asked is: tell me what you will be saying at your awareness program
  • staff at schools have to be on their guard because each school has a governing body comprising of parents and educators for the 'effective running' of the school - principals and deputies do not want students going home saying a religious group came to our school talking about religion!
  • so, Mother made us aware of these concerns and we inform the authoritarian figure that we do not discuss politics, religion, force membership, sell anything .....we stress again that this is an awareness program with benefits of students becoming more calm, having better attention, improvements in marks and teachers having a more caring, nurturing approach
  • by now the person in front of us is won over and the next segment of the conversation focuses on when we can come and present
  • the 3 of us actually request our program to be conducted during assembly time (as that is the time when all students and educators are at a common place); however, there were 3 instances when the principal was so enthusiastic that a special assembly was arranged i.e. our presentation was at the middle of teaching time
  • our Garmin GPS has a neat feature in that it can provide information of all schools in an area (excellent tool in that we save petrol by knowing exactly where to go)

There are advantages of having more than one yogi(ini) visiting the school ...the need to communicate is not left on the shoulders of one yogi, 3 heads and voices are better than one, and there is more fun to share.

On the day of the presentation, Rina goes to Kasthurie's house and they both come in one car to my house. We have to all wake up a little earlier than normal as Kasthurie and I have school going kids and they need to be dropped off at school. There is much commitment and dedication from Rina and Kathurie as they are both house wives! So we all get into my car, drop off my kids and drive really fast to our destination by listening to the prompts from our GPS. We announce ourselves to the principal / deputy and proceed to the assembly area where we setup our 2 meter high chakra chart (2 weeks ago we also received an A frame) and await for assembly to start.

Lincoln is introduced and I talk for 2 / 3 minutes on challenges that students are facing from communities and school life and how this stress results in poor attention, lack of respect, bad grades. The stress that teachers undergo is also mentioned and then the presentation focuses on how Mother Nature is able to continue after an earthquake, flood, global warming, the 5 natural energies in nature is also in our bodies and if these energies are awakened and Sahaj meditation practiced then human beings can also overcome stress. The need to overcome peer pressure is touched on depending on whether it is a high school or not.

Kasthurie is called upon and she goes into the subtle system is greater detail. The difference is that the theme of Mother Nature continues in her presentation. At no stage is GOD or religion ever mentioned is our presentation (as earlier promised). Her entire presentation is the need for us to reconnect to Mother Earth. She then continues by initiating the process of self realisation and she stresses for all students and teachers to participate in the process. At the end there is so much joy to witness students looking at each other in amazement when 'this wind emits from their fontanelles' Her presentation goes on for approximately 6 / 8 minutes and Rina is then introduced.

Rina thanks everyone for being such a great audience, for taking part in the SR process, and the reminds them the need to re-associate with nature through SY meditation. Teachers are encouraged to request students to go into thought-less awareness for 30 seconds before a class begins.

After the presentation, some teachers come around us saying they are really grateful for us coming and they know this will make a difference in the lives of students. Some of them request for more information. There were 3 instances when 'teacher empowerment' classes were requested and followup SY classes was held which Kasthurie and Rina managed. We then say our goodbyes and we 3 head off home (at least I go back to work).

Since August 2010 until April 2011, we 3 have already visited 19 schools and Mother received almost 9000 newly realised souls. We can say with confidence that due to the success of this initiative other yogis(inis) in South Africa are also conducting similar programs in their neighbourhoods.

Here is a paragraph from the book:

"... After two years, I really wanted to present this book to Shri Mataji. I had heard that Shri Mataji was coming to England, and would be arriving at Heathrow. So, I took the book and went to Heathrow, and when I arrived at the airport, there were probably, maybe, 5, 6, 700 Sahaja Yogis there. They had brought chairs for Shri Mataji and Sir C.P. to sit on, so that people could present their flowers to Shri Mataji in the car park.

I stood at the back, and I waited for everyone to present their flowers. And then there was a kind of circle of people in front of Mother, and as the last person presented their flowers to Mother, the circle kind of moved back, and I made my way through the crowd of people, and walked fairly quickly up towards Shri Mataji and knelt down on one knee.

I put the book in my right hand and I presented it to Shri Mataji. Shri Mataji took the book and, to be honest, I couldn’t really look; I didn’t really want to look at Mother, because I wasn’t quite sure what I would see. I could just see Mother’s hands opening the book as it sat on Her lap; I had never felt vibrations like it, ever. I felt like I was kneeling there for an eternity, as Mother very slowly read words to Herself and turned the page, and then another page, and then another page, and another page, and then She look at me, and I looked up, and Mother said, “At last, not somebody writing about Sahaja Yoga, but writing about God.”

And then Mother said to me, “Nick, there are no words that can describe what you have seen.” And I said No, Mother, there are no words that can describe what I have seen. And Mother said, “All the words, in all the books, in all of the libraries of the world, cannot describe what you have seen.” And I said No, Mother. Mother held the book in Her right hand and looked at me straight in the eye and said, “This book will be published.” "

Daglio Children's Camp 2011

Dear Young Sahaja Yogis, Parents, Aunties and Uncles from All Over the World,

It is our great joy and honour once again to invite all Sahaja Yogi’s between 8 and 14 years old to join the very international and fun-loving collective of Daglio for the camp of 2011.

The much awaited camp will have a very special theme “Our Mother’s Life and Her Vision”. This theme will be featured in all activities creative and athletic. We will also enjoy the usual escapades to the waterfalls nearby and effortlessly broaden our awareness and deepen our Sahaj bond through collective meditation, bhajans and treatments.

Shri Mataji’s house on the hills near Cabella, in the beautiful Italian countryside, will host two camps this year:

The Boys camp will start after Guru Puja on Monday 18 July to Wednesday 3 August.

The Girls camp will start Wednesday 3 August and end on Shri Krishna Puja weekend Friday 19 August.

Places are limited to 70 children for each camp so please let us know by 9 July if you are coming. We strongly recommend that you come for the whole duration of either camp. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take anyone staying for less than 10 days.

If you have been to a Daglio Camp before you know that you have to come back! If you haven’t then it’s time you experience for yourself: inhaling the fresh mountain air in the mornings, getting to know other children your own age, the magical evenings around the campfire, learning new arts and crafts, and of course those amazing vibrations every day!

HELP NEEDED: Country Co-ordinators: If you could act as the central point of contact between the Daglio organisers and the parents in your country, we’d love to hear from you, please write to us today at registration@dagliocamp.com

Enthusiastic, hard-working adults who enjoy being part of a team can come to help as Aunties and Uncles. Yuva Shakti aged 16+ who want to organise or help with activities would be a great asset to the camp and set a glowing example for the whole Daglio family.

Costs for children will be as usual - around 20 euro per day, with reductions for the second, third and fourth child from the same family. There are special reduced fees for African, Eastern European, Middle Eastern and South American countries as well as India.

To register please read the information sheet, download the official registration forms and complete the online preliminary registration at http://www.dagliocamp.com.

Be sure to check out the impressions of previous camps on the website too!!!
Jai Shri Mataji and see you in Daglio!

With love from
Daglio Coordinating Team 2011

Sahaja Yoga Tour of Indonesia and upcoming Tour of China

Dear Yogis,

Spreading self realisation is one of the greatest observances of our spiritual awakening and one of our  great rights, and responsibilities, as Shri Mataji's children. As Yogis we spread the seeds of truth in the hope that Sahaja Yoga may spring forth in new fertile soils and reaching seekers who have never had their chance to receive their self realisation.

A group of 50 Yogis from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and the region, together with 'Bhakti', the music group of Perth are currently undertaking a major Tour of Indonesia. Links from the programs so far concluded from the Tour are included, to share this news with the collective.

The Tours are the expression, and the desire of Sahaja Yogis to join together, harnessing their passion, courage, and personal commitment, in the spirit of the great Touring traditions given to us. Planning is also well under way for the Tour of China from the 23rd of Sep  to the 10th of Oct. 20 Yogis, including Music of Joy are booked to attend. All Yogis who wish to join the coming China Tour are welcomed.

Sincerely

The Realise the World Team
