Shri Mataji's father birthday

July 15th, 1883 was the birthday of Shri Mataji's father, Prasad Rao Salve.

A successful lawyer, he was a prominent member of India’s Constituent Assembly and one of the authors of free India's first Constitution.

He was fluent 14 languages, well versed in the arts, literature and sciences, and translated the Koran into Hindi and knew the Bhagavad Gita by heart.

He was a direct descendant of the Shalivahana's royal dynasty, which reigned in the Indian province of Maharashtra from 230 BC to 230 AD.

Even today, he is remembered by many as an exceptional freedom fighter, and was one of the few Christian members in the first legislative parliament of India.

In 1920, Prasad Rao Salve married Lady Cornelia, who was the first woman in India to receive an Honors Degree in Mathematics.

An Art Academy was established having his name: Shri P.K.Salve Kala Pratishthan

While we appreciate the contribution of Shri P.K. Salve as a Freedom Fighter as also as Christian member of the Indian Constituent Assembly. he was CERTAINLY NOT the only Christian to be in it . Seven Christians were elected to the Indian Constituent Assembly.
Please ensure the certainty of facts from Constitutional Assembly records. It is surprising that such a statement is made on a page / site like this.

Also 3 Anglo-Indian members who were counted separately from the Indian Christians.
